National Citizen Party Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary said, ‘There have been countless killings and countless incidents in Bangladesh. One of the biggest incidents is the shipment of 10 trucks of arms in chittagong. If you can’t handle arms, why you brought arms? Due to this arms deal in our South Asia, Bangladesh’s sovereignty had been threatened. The lives of countless people have been endangered.’

He said this speech at a road meeting organized at Netrokona town on Sunday afternoon as part of NCP’s ‘Desh Garte July Padayatra’ program.

Nasiruddin Patwary said, ‘I respect Babar Bhai (former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar), he is a persecuted leader. But I don’t support your actions. BNP could not come to power because of your actions. A murderer-fascist Hasina came to power. For the past 15 years, BNP leaders and activists have been tortured, my brothers were killed, shot at, for this you too will be responsible in the history. We want peace. We do not want unrest in Bangladesh. We want human rights. We want human dignity.’

Nasiruddin Patwary further said, ‘Whoever has the power of the judiciary, who has the power of the parliament, who has the power of the executive—that is why we have sought elections to the upper house through the PR method to check the balance of power. But those who want to remain in the fascist power structure are trying to deceive the people on this issue. Let’s be united on the streets. The people of Bangladesh will return home with a new constitution, reforms and tickets for Sheikh Hasina’s trial, God willing.’

He also said in his speech, ‘We want justice for the BDR murder, the Shapla Chattar murder, and the disappearances and murders of numerous BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists. Those who have oppressed Muslims, termed islamic scholars as militants, and tortured the hill region people in the implementation of India’s agenda must be brought to justice.’

NCP convener Nahid Islam, senior joint member secretary Tasneem Zara, NCP central organizer (northern region) Pritam Sohag, central member Fahim Khan Pathan and others spoke at the roadshow. Southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah and northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam were present at the event but did not speak. After the roadshow, NCP central leaders left for Sherpur.
