NCP declares 24-point ‘New Bangladesh’ manifesto

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has unveiled its 24-point manifesto for “New Bangladesh”, calling for the formation of a “Second Republic” and the adoption of a new constitution.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam announced the manifesto at a rally held at the Central Shaheed Minar today.

The manifesto’s key pledges include recognizing the July uprising of last year and ensuring justice for those affected.

It also proposes restructuring the country’s democratic framework and state institutions, alongside comprehensive legal reforms to establish a justice-driven judiciary.

At the end of manifesto announcement, Nahid Islam said, “Exactly one year ago today, at this Shaheed Minar, we took an oath to free this country from facism. We defeated the fascist regime and taken back our authority over the country.” Today, once again, from this Shaheed Minar, we call upon you – let us all together transform these historic 24 points into a reality to form our Second Republic and build the new Bangladesh of the dreams of all citizens’
