The hearing of of forming charges against the accused in the murder case of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July uprising, is today. The hearing of framing of charges against 30 accused in the case will be held on Monday (July 28).
6 of the 30 accused in the case will be presented to the tribunal, source said. They are former proctor Shariful Islam, former assistant sub-inspector of police Amir Hossain, constable Sujan Chandra Roy and Chhatra League leader Imran Chowdhury.
On July 22, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 declared 24 people, including the former VC of Rangpur’s Begum Rokeya University (Berob), and the former Rangpur Police Commissioner, as absconding.
The prosecution said that an application will be filed to start the trial of all the accused today.
