Recently, several posts have been circulating on various social media platforms, including Facebook, regarding the opacity of the tender of Information and Broadcasting Advisor Mahfuz Alam’s elder brother. After that, the information advisor’s brother and joint convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP), Mahbub Alam Mahi, threatened to take legal action against the complainant in a post on Facebook on Monday night. He said that the person who spread slander against him must apologize within 24 hours.
In a Facebook post on Monday (July 28), Mahbub Alam called for an apology. His younger brother, Information Advisor Mahfuz Alam, also shared the post and later made a separate Facebook post himself.
Mahbub Alam wrote at the beginning of his post, ‘Response to false allegations!!’ He claimed that rumors of financial corruption were being spread against him from a Facebook status. In this context, he published his account statement for the last 6 months and said that his account is still active. He called the information spread by the accused person named Boni Amin and some media outlets as ‘false’. He said, he was a master’s student at an Australian university and his Australian bank account is opened since 2023.
He also wrote, ‘I have not done any lobbying on behalf of my brother Mahfuz Alam, and he has never allowed me to do so. There is no record of our family’s financial transactions except personal and family business.’ He said that their family has been involved in business for the last three decades and due to political oppression, his father could not run the business properly for the last 16 years.
Boni Amin Responded
In response to Mahbub Alam’s post, travel YouTuber and Facebook verified account holder Boni Amin wrote in a post on his own page, ‘Mahfuz’s brother asked our admin to apologize within 24 hours after disclosing bank statement. Bani Amin doesn’t know who I am !
